PADI Discover Snorkelling

Look just below the surface – that’s where all the action is! Our Discover Snorkeling experience is your ticket to the action-packed underwater world. With tips and suggestions on how to make the most of your snorkeling adventures, this program is based on three simple principles: you snorkel because you want to see and interact with the underwater world, snorkeling is a great adventure and anyone can do it! (No minimum age requirements.)

A video highlights the sights and experiences of snorkeling and the intriguing creatures you’ll encounter. Again, the emphasis is on simple tips to make snorkeling even easier. Accompanying the video is, The Snorkeler’s Field Guide, which illustrates various underwater environments with common aquatic life you can expect to see.

PADI Discover Scuba Diving

When you discover scuba diving, you discover excitement and adventure – freedom and serenity. Nothing compares to the "weightless" exhilaration of breathing underwater. Only a diver knows the feeling!

The Discover Scuba Diving program lets you experience the thrill of diving under the supervision of one of our Instructors, in ideal conditions, such as those found at Dive Africa. During your adventure, you’ll master some basic concepts and scuba skills before heading off on an open water dive.

Your open water dive takes you as deep as 12 meters/40 feet! (Of course this depends on where you dive.) The Discover Scuba Diving experience is a great way to get a head start on your PADI Scuba Diver or Open Water Diver certification. That’s because the skills you complete during your adventure may credit these certification levels. All you have to do is complete a Student Diver Record and Referral Form, which documents your achievement, and bring it to any PADI Dive Center or Resort to continue where you left off.

To participate in the Discover Scuba Diving experience, you must be at least 10 years old.

PADI Scuba Diver

Thinking of getting certified for an upcoming vacation, but don’t have at least 4 days to put into a regular diver course? Now there’s a quick and easy 2-day program designed especially for you! This is your chance to slap on some fins, strap on a mask and experience an intense adventure in a short amount of time. The PADI Scuba Diver program is a pre-entry level certification that is perfect for vacationers or people who only plan to dive a couple times a year.

As a subprogram of the Open Water Diver program, the PADI Scuba Diver rating allows you to get certified quickly and easily by minimizing time constraints. With the PADI Scuba Diver certification you can dive under the direct supervision of a Dive Master, Assistant Instructor or Instructor on your next holiday or dive trip. This program is a wonderful opportunity to explore the underwater world with the comfort and safety of having an experienced guide with you at all times. The knowledge and skills you learn in this program are just the beginning of an exciting array of courses and programs that await. With a PADI Scuba Diver certification card, you will be able to obtain air fills, scuba equipment and other services for diving under supervision. After completing the program, you’ll want to continue your dive education and the Open Water Diver program to explore more dive opportunities. During the course of the program you will use the PADI Open Water Diver manual and video. Credit earned in this program can be used toward your Open Water Diver certification at a later stage. The Open Water Diver course uses the same materials as the Scuba Diver course, so already you are on your way to continuing further dive adventures.

Anyone age 15 or over qualifies for the PADI Scuba Diver program. If you are between the ages of 10 and 14, a PADI Junior Scuba Diver program is available.

PADI Open Water Diver

As a certified PADI Open Water Diver you have the freedom to dive with a buddy independent of a Dive Master, Assistant Instructor or Instructor. If you already tried a Discover Scuba Diving experience or are Scuba Diver certified, check with Dive Africa to see how credit from these courses may apply to the Open Water Diver program. Your underwater adventure can begin as soon as today with the new PADI Open Water Diver manual and video ! You can view these materials at home, at your own pace and then meet with an instructor for further assistance. Open water learning options also include group or private instruction. This course offers tremendous flexibility and lets you work out individual needs with your instructor.

Virtually anyone who is in good health, reasonably fit, and comfortable in the water can earn a PADI Open Water Diver certification. At some point in the course, your Instructor will ask you to demonstrate the ability to swim 200 meters/yards without swim aids or 300 meters/yards with mask, fins and snorkel and complete a bit of paperwork, to get you on your way.
