SCUBA DIVING IN
THE RED SEA
 The
Red Sea has remained wild, relatively untouched, desolate and pristine.
It's fascinating mix of sea teeming with life and the barren desert
surrounding will intrigue you forever. The long, narrow Red Sea is
surrounded by arid mountains on both sides. No rivers flow into it, and
the influx from the Indian Ocean , is extremely slight - factors which
create very distinctive conditions. This includes a very high salt
content, requiring divers to use more weights. The Red Sea can become
rather cool during the winter months of November through to February
and the wearing of wet suits are recommended. Diving in the turquoise
water of the Red Sea is considered by most scuba divers as the best in
the world. Dive sites like Ras Mohammed, the Tiran islands, the wrecks
of the Thistlegorm and the Dunraven, undoubtedly justifies this number
one position. |
